Laura & I finally made it back
to the zoo, so we took new pix for
the website - as promised!
It was a ~HOT~
sunny day, so
most of the animals were hiding in
the shade, but we managed to snap
a few.
Have you noticed how the text above
is all sky blue, and
the color for hot
is
all sunny yellow?... and how this text
on the bottom is all like grassy green?
This is all realistic & stuff - I will
stay with that.
On to the Zoo!

Let's start off with a
look at the flamingos!
They
are very social creatures.
Their pinkish hue
is caused by the
small crustaceans that they eat.
|
|
It's
hard to miss the giraffes, isn't it?
I like when they hang out so close
to the fence like this, 'cause you
can get a good look at them.

It's
early afternoon & the temperature
is getting to us. We're chugging water
to stay hydrated.
You
can see that these Polar Bears
are enjoying their water too, with
a playful swim in the Polar Bear Pool!

Pop
quiz, my Safari Friends!
Can you identify this
South American Primate?
(answer
at the bottom of the page - no cheating!)
|

|
These Sun Bears from Asia
are looking cool & relaxed
despite the heat.
Next stop - The Australian Outback! |
|
I
know what you're
thinking, but
you're wrong!
ANYONE from Down Under
will tell you that these marsupials
are not, in fact, 'roos, but WALLABIES.

|
These
pix are from the
Petting Zoo at the Outback.
Both
the goat and the pony were
a bit tired of all the attention that
they were getting from the children,
so we just let them alone. |
|
Not sure why they keep these
Camels at the Outback...
... and I don't care, either -
we're going for Ice Cream! |
|
Hey,
animal lovers
like McDonalds, too!
Enjoy a frosty cone at
the MetroParks' McD's!
|
|
One
last exhibit... of me and
this lovely bird. I
took it myself! |
|

Check into a yearly membership
for the
Cleveland Zoological Society...
it's great,
inexpensive entertainment
for the whole family!
