Obituary for FRANK MORRILL

FRANK PARY MORRILL was born at West Salem, Wisconsin, November 25th, 1855. He came to Pipestone in 1879 and resided In this county continuously from that time except for about a 2 year period spent at Forest Lake. MN., a few years ago. Upon his arrival here forty-three years ago, he erected a sod building at the corner of Olive and Anna streets, which he occupied as a blacksmith shop. He followed the occupation of blacksmithing here for sometime and later purchased the A, J. Brown farm In Troy township. He moved out there and farmed the place for a number of years. Since retiring from active work, he has made his home In this city. As a blacksmith and general mechanic, he was a workman of marked ability and by his Industry and Integrity achieved success in his various business undertakings. He was a highly respected citizen, and a good friend and neighbor. In early life he identified himself with the Presbyterian Church at West Salem, and never left the faith of that church.
Mr. Morrill was married In this city In 1897 to Mrs. Iva Hamlin, who had two sons, Carl and Harry Hamlin. Mr. Morrill was a charter member of Hope Lodge No. 89, I.O.O.F, of this city. He was clerk Of School district No. 10, of Pipestone County. When he died in February of 1922 in Troy, MN the local paper proclaimed that a beloved pioneer passed away at his home, 203 Bast Centennial Street. He is buried in Woodlawn cemetery Troy Township.
