There is a storm on the horizon.
Feelings from times past;
Sent away to build momentum return.
There is a breech in the wall.
Smells like rain.

As drops already begin to fall, sky's colors change;
More beautiful than ever before yet eerie - strangely familiar.
Clouds roll away to reveal a majestic, royal blue sky;
Yet thunder peals in the distance.

There is a storm on the horizon.
My heart swells like a crimson balloon;
Each day coming ever so close to the point of bursting;
But what is it?

From where does this tempest come?
What will it precipitate?
The effects of storms past evaporate
Only to gather from the deep and resonate once more still;
Shaking the foundation of my soul.
The scene darkens with uncertainty.
Who knows what lies in its wake?
What will the face of my dwelling suffer?

There is a storm on the horizon.
Droughts can become comfortably dry
As can the human heart with no substance;
Yet I thirst.

I pray for a little rain but lo; a gale blows in from the east.
'Tis the same storm which blows across the depths of my being;
Back and forth in cycle until I learn its secret,
And it is this:

One must swallow the storm.
Yes, it becomes part of those who seek its message.
It is a persistent messenger who will never stop knocking.
It will blow by the gate of wisdom and understanding until it gains entry,
For only then can it hope to see the master
And refresh his thirsty soul -
Rather than ravage his home, his dwelling place.

There is a storm on the horizon.
I cannot leave him outside.
I mustn't turn him away only for him to return with wrath.
For rejection is pain,
And as a teacher comes to bless her students,
So the storm approaches with enlightenment amidst a sea of trouble.

Let him in! Who is he?
As lightning dances across the recesses of my mind
I see the face, the reflection of myself.
A part of me with energized intensity once denied returns.
This is the final hour, the grand finale of self denial
Draws to its climax.
I may be enlightened or destroyed,
But I must swallow the storm.

I am the storm on the horizon.
