Frankfort Car Club and campers

 BE A VOLUNTEER..

The Frankfort Car Club gives the children rides in their special vehicles. There are old and new Chevys, Fords, Plymouths, a Police Squad Car and many more. We ride into Frankfort to the Trolley Barn for ice cream.

Sewing League and campers These women gave their time to teach cross-stitch techniques. The boys didn't want to be in the picture, but several of them also did beautiful work.

Opportunities for volunteers..

***Companions:
Every child at camp is assigned to a companion. Companions must be at least 18 years old and have a love for children. Many companions are college students. Several are involved in the medical field. There are also steel workers, secretaries, business executives and retirees.
Each must complete an extensive application and interview with the companion coordinator. Every companion's background is thoroughly researched, including a police check.
During the week of camp the companion sleeps in a cabin with his/her camper and 6 to 8 other people. The companion is responsible for getting his/her camper to the "Med Shed" for scheduled medications. The companion must be reliable and trustworthy; but the companion also has the opportunity of being a kid again while participating in activities with his/her camper. The companion must be able to stay on camp for the ENTIRE week.
If this fits your schedule and temperament, please give us a call.

***Medical
Doctors and nurses are needed to work a rotating schedule during the week of camp. If you are able to donate a single day, a couple days or an entire week, we would love to talk with you.

***Volunteers
Daily volunteers are needed to assist with crafts, activities and food service. If you are not able to spend the entire week, this may interest you. These positions are limited in number.

***Fundrasing
Fundraising is a year-round effort and requires many hands. You may help with just one project or with every activity. Please call. You will meet and work with a great group of people.

***Club Involvement
Clubs, like the Frankfort Car Club, sponsor activities during Camp.
