Our Mission Statement
We will grow as a community of Christ inviting everyone to join us in His work, recognizing the gifts and needs of all, particularly children, youth, and young adults. Together we will strengthen our discipleship, nurture our relationships and serve our community.
Our church is a congregation of the Community of Christ with headquarters in Independence, Missouri. The church is a world community of believers in Jesus Christ. We have about 250,000 members in 50 countries.
The Community of Christ in Grove City, Ohio is committed to serving all, particularly children, youth, and young adults. We have a full-time Young Adult Family Minister who supports young adults and young families in their spiritual journey. We use a blend of contemporary and traditional forms of worship on Sunday mornings ... with words projected on the front wall, and accompaniment with guitar. We host a Solid Rock Cafe for teens which is sponsored by the Western Ohio Mission Center.
We moved into our new facility on Stringtown Road in Grove City in 1997. Before that we were known as the South Branch in the Columbus District. The building at 22nd and Reinhard on the south side of Columbus was constructed and dedicated in the 1920s. It had served us well for over 75 years.
Our facility in Grove City features an attractive multipurpose room for Sunday worship, men's basketball on Monday evenings, a Solid Rock Cafe for teens, and other fellowship activities. It is spacious enough for a full-size volleyball court. We have state-of-the-art video projection and sound systems for multimedia presentation. We have a variety of activities and services, including a church school program on Sunday mornings, a fellowship service on Wednesday evenings, and several small groups.
