Being prepared for any emergency is good advice. Pet emergencies are no exception. I remember the time when a Great Dane had it's tail caught in an aluminum screen door. The sharp edge of the door cut an artery. The dog did not immediately feel the effect of his injury and ran around the house wagging his injured tail. The family frantically tried to contain the bleeding and called us immediately. He was brought right in and after a couple of sutures and a little rest; he was on his way home.
