  PAINTED BUNTING VISITS NE. ILLINOIS!


The Painted Bunting is a rare vagrant to Illinois with only five reports thus far (through 2000) in the state ornithological annals. These Painted Bunting photos were taken on April 22nd, 2000 at a feeder in Wadsworth (northcentral Lake County). The sex of the bird is unknown, but it is in 1st spring plumage.
