Edward Thoele I am Edward C. Thoele and I welcome you to my home page.

I am a mathematician who provided knowledge and consulting in Unix operating systems (particularly Solaris, SunOS, and Linux) and computer and network security. I also provided background knowledge in the X Window System, Unix applications, PostScript, and the TeX text processing system.

I am on leave (rather permanent) from the PhD program at DePaul University, where I was working in Mathematical Foundations of Programming Languages, possibly involving the specification of a core calculus for a class-based, distributed, concurrent language.

I am retired from Exelon Corporation, formerly Commonwealth Edison Company, and I currently volunteer at the La Grange Area Historical Society.
