The PEACH Club

is an after-school program encouraging hope through art making and consistent one-on-one attention for children at risk. With a studio program at 312 N. May St. and satellite programs at 4 public schools, The PEACH Club works with over 50 children each year in an intensive mentorship. PEACH Club students will be making sculpture, drawings, and other artworks for this exhibition.

Richard E. Byrd Community Academy

students have been working on art and writings dealing with the violence that they see all around them in their community and in the media. "Violence: Through the Eyes of Our Children," the Academy's contribution to Young At Art, will present digital collages with text written by the artists which inspired the imagery.

Byrd Academy

Picture This Projects

has been teaching youth the practice of photography for over six years. A photo installation of their summer project "Friends and Neighbors" will be featured in Young At Art. The students set up an outdoor studio for two days in a WestTown parking lot and photographed family, friends and passersby. The subjects were also asked to describe their feelings about the neighborhood; this text will accompany the photographs.

In the annual Young At Art exhibitions, all of the work can be acquired by the public for a donation and proceeds go directly to benefit the program in which each artwork was created.
