The GCLA was founded in 1956 by, and for the benefit of locksmiths. Our founding fathers goal was to promote the advancement of our industry by inspiring a spirit of cooperation among fellow locksmiths. Today, this spirit of cooperation and trust continues to be the driving force behind the GCLA.

 Join us, as out guest, at one of our regular meetings. We meet the first Wednesday of every month (except July) at 7:00 p.m. for product information followed by out business meeting at 8:00 p.m. (refreshments provided).

EDUCATION
 Each year brings the introduction of many new and redesigned products. in order to service these items in an efficient manner, today's locksmith must keep up to date on new products and procedures. The GCLA recognizes this and has dedicated itself to providing top quality classes and instructors on a wide variety of subjects.

PRODUCT INFORMATION
  Each month, prior to our business meeting, factory representatives and distributors display their latest products.

TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE
    One of our greatest assest is the wealth of knowledge which is shared freely at our monthly meetings. it is a  common sight to see members helping each other locate unusual items or solve difficult technical problems.

VIDEO LIBRARY
   The GCLA has an extensive collection of videotapes covering a variety of lock servicing procedures. These are available for loan to GCLA members at no charge.

REFERENCE LIBRARY
 we also have current and past issues of major trade magazines available for reference at our regular meetings.

TRADE SHOW
  Our annual Midwest Trade Show has become a regioal event attracting locksmiths from several states. Manufacturer's representatives, distributors, specialty suppliers, ALOA,PRP,SAVTA,PRP,classes, skill contests, a raffle, and our banquet combine to make a full, productive, and fun weekend.

AUCTION
 Exceptional bargains can be found at out annual auction. all prducts sold are in excellent, re-sellable condition.

LEGISLATION
 The GCLA was the leading drive to license Illinois locksmiths.
