Software Repairman

Drive downtown and hop on a jet
Customers computer is on the blink
Land in their city and then I’ll be set
Man these service contracts stink

Maintenance programmer is what they call me
The title sounds official but the work ain’t easy
Cleaning out the cesspool of faulty programs
Has earned me the name of Software Repairman

To cure the program I make the incision
Remove the bad instruction put the new on in
Then if the knee’s okay I move on to the shin
To get this program runnin’ again

I don’t carry a black bag ‘cause my patients aren’t human
I whip out my company tag and then I’m groovin’
My tools aren’t mechanical they’re stored in my brain
And that won’t rust if it’s left in the rain

Though my job keeps me traveling from city to city
I never am alone and I never am lonely
My work is fun and it keeps me busy
The LED’s are bright and their flashing is pretty
