Stephanie
Swan high above in the restless sea
Appears to hover pausing for me
Extending myself she remains beyond grasp
Leaving the question that I long to ask
Continuing on to touch those that are ready tonight
Will not join her on this flight
Shall I seek you to the exclusion of all else that I may want
Should
I leave you beyond the horizon and carry out what destiny has wrought
If your love's as real as you say
Why must I earn it this way
But is the mist that surrounds me in the moonlight of her rhyme
The key to longevity or the waste of precious time
Needing love is not so bad as having none to give
I already lost the one I had and now I want to live
Palms extended she offers to free
The minds of those who wish to be
I long to surrender completely to her
And not live alone today or forever
Yet is it the voice of compassion
Or the destructive lure of the siren
Yet her song seems vaguely familiar
Perhaps the first genetic memory
Seems to provoke the feeling I hear
When the starlight shines right through me
I wonder if they could be the same
Or whether nature can never be tame
But is the mist that surrounds me in the moonlight of
her rhyme
The key to longevity or the waste of precious time
Needing love is not so bad as having none to give
I already lost the one I had and now I want to live
One said it’s only out of reach for those
who
don’t believe
The other said it’s just beyond the grasp of
that I seek
I long to hear the melody that is all that I will be
She sings of love so distant yet closer than reality
Perhaps someday I’ll meet her in
this
world or another
Perhaps someday she’ll love me in this dimension
or
whatever
‘Till then I’ll continue to listen
‘Till
then I’ll continue
to reason
Swan high above in the restless sea
Appears to hover pausing
for me
Extending myself she remains beyond grasp
Leaving the question
that I long to ask
Continuing on to touch those that are ready tonight
Will not join her on this flight
