Haiku - March, 2005
early spring
the squirrel still running
upside down
morning rain
the snowman
trembles
hometown road
nothing looks
the same
|
blue sky--
last year's babble
in the brook
hard frost
a spider's net
decorates the gate
dusk
the El's platform
grows colder
|
_ March Senryu _
St. Patrick's Day
a patch of grass
in the snow
"how do you do"
the new neighbor's cat
brings a mouse

Haiku - April, 2005
early spring
snowflakes and dandelions
share the backyard
late spring snow--
the plum branches
white on white
morning fog--
no sound from
the harbor buoy
morning after--
a grackle finds
the last Easter egg
|
heavy fog
i follow a blind man
along the path
late winter
the robin carries
an icy twig
low tide--
seagulls drop clams
on the parking lot
full moon--
a bucket overflows
on the maple
|
_ April Senryu _
seventy-five
the needle's eye
has disappeared
after Christmas sale
patent pending pines and
fiber optic firs
