For fun exercise,
 

Something good that happened to you when you were a child.
 

Before you start writing, try to think of more than one good thing!
Eight or ten might be about right.  All different.  Try to find at least
one thing that other people might not exactly think of as good.   Try to
choose something we aren't all expecting to hear.

Now, ready?  Go. Use first person, past tense.  Avoid sentimentality.
Stay away from those unnecessary adjectives and adverbs.  Use real
street names.  Crack a few jokes.  Put in some images.  Sounds.
Colors.  Smells.   The weather.  Apparel.   Try to write a few hundred
words, even a thousand.  Oh heck, I'll take a million (just kidding).

Then put it up on the list.  Come on, you lurkers!  We know you're out
there.
