Drool Drops
Ingredients:
2 C. Whole Wheat Flour
1/2 C. Corn Meal
1 tsp. Baking Soda
1/4 C. Vegetable Shortening
2 Eggs, beaten
1/4 C. Beef Broth (low salt if you can)
1/4 C. Honey
2 Tbl. Molasses
2 Tbl. Water

Mix flour, soda and corn meal in a bowl. Cut in shortening (or rub little chunks at a time into the flour with your fingers to make a dry, crumbly mix). Make a well in the center of the flour mixture and add the eggs, folding in with a spoon. Stir in honey and molasses. Slowly add in the broth and water until the dough comes together. (Works best if you use your paws, I mean HANDS). Heat oven to 400 degrees. Spray cookie sheets with non-stick spray. Break off little chunks of dough (the size of the treat depends on the size of the dog). Roll the dough between your palms to form a ball, then flatten between your palms to about a quarter inch thick. Use a cookie stamp or criss-cross pattern with a fork. Bake for about 10 minutes until golden brown. Cool, Drool and enjoy!

Note: This treat is especially good for dogs with bad teeth that can't handle hard snacks and small dogs, since the treats easily break into smaller pieces.

APPLE CINNAMON TRAINING BITS
Ingredients:
4 C. Whole Wheat Flour
1/2 C. Cornmeal
1 Egg
2 Tbl. Vegetable Oil
1 Small Apple grated
1 tsp. Cinnamon
1 1/3 C. Water

In a bowl combine all ingredients except the apple and water. Grate apple into mixture and add water. Mix until it starts forming together. Turn out on a lightly floured surface. Knead well. Roll out to a thickness of 1/4-inch to 1/2-inch. Take a straight edge and score the dough horizontally then vertically to make a grid of 3/4 squares. Be careful not to score the dough that it completely cuts through the dough. Place on a baking sheet that has been sprayed with a non-stick spray. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour. Yield: 1 1/2 pounds
