
Nectar party: n. 1. Group diablerie, usually involving the ritual Nectar of the Bitter Rose, but occasionally involving several victims. "We shouldn't have Methuselahs in-game--some minimaxer is going to grab one and throw a Nectar party, and we're going to have five more seventh gens runnning around." syn. tea party.
Nojball: n. 1. Any Brujah rant involving the willing or unwilling participation of a "guest of honor", or "ball". "Were you hit by a truck, or were you playing Nojball again?"
non-wuss: n. 1. A wuss. "Stop whining, you non-wuss."
not here: adj. 1. Standing around while out-of-game (cf). "If you're not here, then get lost, would you? We're trying to have a scene!" 2. Storytellers and players who can't stop socializing long enough to roleplay. "She's not here, she's trying to pick up guys. Guess this is the only place she can!"
Obiwan: n. 1. The preferred, if somewhat dyslexic, pronunciation of the acronym 'OWBN'. "Your chronicle just joined One World by Night? Cool. Are you signed up to the Obiwan mailing list yet?"
Obfuscoping: n. 1. The act of raising Heightened Senses when someone is noticed to be approaching Obfuscated.. "Did you really have your super hearing going all night, or are you just Obfuscoping?" 2. The act of only declaring Heightened Senses challenges against certain people. "You didn't challenge Dick Brujah when he walked by Obfuscated, so you shouldn't challenge me either. That would be Obfuscoping." 3. The act of changing the topic of conversation or editing your words if you know someone is eavesdropping. "Just once I'd like to be allowed to listen in on a conversation without people Obfuscoping so I don't know what they're talking about."
on the fast track: adj. 1. Referring to a character who gains beast traits quickly. "His Gangrel has a lot of animal features because he's on the fast track. " 2. Referring to a character who starts with two beast traits and an extra derangement. "As your storyteller, I should warn you that starting with Vigilante and Frustrated, plus Crimson Rage, is going to put you on the fast trackto permanent frenzy."
out-of-character: a. (abbrev. OOC) 1. Referring to actions undertaken that happen in the real world rather than in the fictional world of gaming. "Of course my Nosferatu isn't standing in front of a security camera. I'm just waiting for my ride home out-of-character." syn. out-of-game.

Overfiend: n. 1. A particularly infamous Tzimisce, such as the Prince of North Virginia. "Uh...don't look now but...I think the Overfiend heard that."
penis-measuring contest: n. 1. A blustering confrontation between two players, whether in- or out-of-character, usually hostile, usually involving threats of violence and an unwillingness to yield on unimportant issues. "Bob Ventrue got into a penis-measuring contest with Dick Brujah last night. They shouted about the traditions until the Prince used Song of Serenity on them both." 2. Comparing character statistics, directly or indirectly. "Sometimes I think experience points should be done away with. They just encourage penis-measuring contests."
plot cheese: See cheese.
Pretzel: n. A derogatory term for a Tzimisce. "I'm not afraid of your threats, Pretzel. Aaaaaagh! My face! My beautiful face!"
Prince de jour: n. 1. The Prince of a city that changes Princes frequently and violently--in other words, most OWBN Princes. Has overtones of "soup de jour" and the ominous (to Kindred) reference to daytime. "I gotta present myself to the Prince de jour--who's the target right now?"
pumped up: adj. 1. Under the effects of Potency of the Blood. "The Tremere come to Elysium pumped up, but they're still vulnerable. Just get them to waste their blood, then lay some chops on them."
punch bowl: n. 1. The vaulderie cup. "We'd better hit the punch bowl soon, because I'm starting to hate your guts."
scaring the straights: n. 1. Breaking the Masquerade. "Get those Nosferatu out of here. They're scaring the straights!" 2. Disturbing non-gamers. "I don't think we're welcome at Club X anymore. We were scaring the straights."
Remember, this is your game.: ex. 1. A phrase used with no apparent irony by killer storytellers. "We're working on the new rules and want players' suggestions. Remember, this is your game. Oh, by the way, your character was killed by a Justicar last night."
Rip it!: ex. 1. A request from a storyteller or player for a player to tear up the paper ticket representing the willpower, blood, or whatever trait they just spent. Usually a friendly reminder, sometimes an accusation of cheating. "Retest with luck, eh? Rip it! Don't have it? Too bad! Take two agg!"
Rocheamdeu: n. 1. The game rock-scissors-paper. "Rocheamdeu for that last bagel?"
real roleplayers: n. 1. The faction (cf) of gamers who don't like combat. "We need to get more real roleplayers in the game. I'm hungry." cf. combat wonk, dead roleplayers.
Shut your hole!: ex. 1. A command to remain silent, usually considered insulting. Accepted as one word for Command challenges. "I don't care if you *are* Satan, I want you to shut your hole! Dominate!"
slapping a fist: See beating off.
slaphappy: adj. 1. The quality of someone who calls for many challenges, as if he enjoys playing rock-scissors-paper. "Roy is slaphappy; he Aura-Perceives you every three minutes when you talk with him."
Soyize: n. 1. A character never seen but occasionally talked about, who supposedly has absolute power in the city. Typically a mysterious elder, such as the Yellow Man, Golem, Frank Stallone, etc. "Don't worry, the Soyize never really does anything!"
steamroll: v. 1. To announce a rule interpretation so confidently that less experienced players assume it is correct. "She can't really retest a Horrid Reality attack with Performance: Illusions--she's trying to steamroll you."
Tae Kwon Kindred: n. 1. The delicate art of beating one Kindred to death with another. "I used Tae Kwon Kindred on him until my weapon of choice began to get mushy, then just used my Wolf Claws."
Take it!: ex. 1. A phrase used by storytellers to silence complaints about something that happened to a character. "You lost the challenge, and can't retest, so you're in torpor. Take it!"
Talk to the hand.: ex. 1. An expression of disinterest, laced with overtones of threat when used with Wolf Claws. "Are you going to shut up, or are you going to have to talk to the hand again?"

...then the Assamites popped out!: ex. 1. An expression of disbelief or boredom at someone's exaggerated or tiresome war story (cf), the LARP equivalent of a "big fish" tale. "Yeah, yeah, you won fifteen challenges in a row...and then the Assamites popped out!" 2. An expression indicating that a plot is trite or overused. "What a great character concept, a Malkavian with multiple personalities who all think they're from different clans...but then the Assamites popped out!"
time stop: n. 1. A pause in roleplaying to resolve a number of challenges, usually involving combat. "Don't go to that end of the hall. A pack of Sabbat attacked a Toreador clan meeting, and the storytellers have the whole area in a time stop." 2. A state of supreme boredom brought on by outside factors. "I'm just standing around in time stop, cleaning my nails, waiting for the others to head over to Golden Nugget."
Underfiend: n. 1. One in the employ of an Overfiend (cf). "The Underfiends have to clean up the mess after every zulo session."
war stories: n. 1. Long retellings of LARP events interesting only to those involved in them. Particularly obnoxious to non-LARPers. "His girlfriend is going to smack him if he doesn't stop telling war stories at dinner."
wearing the shirt with concentric circles: v. 1. Being Prince. "You'd never catch me wearing the shirt with concentric circles--I like life, thank you very much." cf. Prince de jour.
