LOGIC, EVIDENCE and the CHRISTIAN FAITH
or
Books that have helped lead me to Christ
A "FREE - as a public service" web site
The story of this site...
Hi, my name is Anthony Castrataro (my friends call me "Tony") and I have had an interest in apologetics (which doesn't mean "apologizing", by the way!) for many years now. When people ask me about my faith in God, I've always been a person that likes to "give away books"-books that have helped convince me of the truth of Christianity and at the same time books I thought to be articulate in doing that- a "classic", if you will.
While I was meditating on the power of the Internet a couple of years ago, I got the idea of putting up this web site- a place where I could virtually "give away books", but where the (monetary) cost would be minimal in doing so, and where I could reach a vast audience- if I so chose [You can say that the Internet gives..."power to the people!"].
I decided back then that I would go to various living authors of, again, books that helped lead me to accept the truth of Christianity and ask them if I could put up one or more of their books on this site. So far, I have had five authors graciously accept my offer to do so with books of theirs that are out-of-print (but still what I consider to be, "good books"). Later on, I hope to get permission to put up important recent books that are still in print (but that's remains to be seen).
Anyway, I sincerely hope you like my web site!

OK, then, down to the nitty-gritty!...here are the links to the books on my web site, and in the order I think you should read them:
(Note: These books take about 2-4 minutes to load with a 56k modem. Also, if you haven't done so already, you might want to bookmark this site now - before you forget.)
JUST POSTED! (1-2-04)A chapter (+ the excellent introduction) out of a book that isn't out of print - Logic by Gordon Clark!
Book 1- Don't You Believe It! (A short, interesting introduction to logical fallacies)
Book 2- Dear Agnos, Letters to an Agnostic in Defense of Christianity (since its first publication, has become a modern-day "classic" in the field of apologetics)
Book 3 - Fallacies of Unbelief (The first four chapters contain a shortened version of some arguments found in Dear Agnos plus other fallacies non-Christians tend to commit.)
Book 4 - Fallacies of Evolution Did evolution really occur?...If you've never looked into the evidence against evolution (and not many people have!), here's a good place to start!
Book 5- Human Connection - See how modern psychology and sociology help confirm the Christian Faith!
Book 6 - Reason to Believe (by Dr. Richard Purtill - a closely reasoned defense of the Christian Faith by the author who is Professor Emeritus at Western Washington State University!)
Just Posted (1-5-04)! - Evil and the Christian God (by Dr. Michael Peterson) - an excellent technical treatment of the so-called "Problem of Evil" from a Christian perspective.
Coming soon! Another book by Dr. Purtill - Thinking about Religion.
Also coming soon! My suggested reading list.
[Note 2: To allow the links
in each Table of Contents to work on your hard drive also, (1)[after saving to
disk] open the saved .htm file with Wordpad (or a similar text editor) and
(2) delete every instance of the
following string:
http://members.core.com/~tony233/
After doing so, each particular book's links should also work on your hard drive! ;) ]
I'd also like to thank Drs. Hoover, Myers , Bolt, Peterson, and Purtill for graciously allowing me to put their book[s] up on the Internet. -Tony Castrataro
