What's with the fish?

The fish is an ancient symbol of the Christian church. Many of the first Christians were persecuted by the Romans, and the fish was their secret sign to identify themselves to one another. The letters in the Greek word for fish, "ICTHUS", make up the first letters in the words of the phrase "Jesus Christ, God's Son, Savior".
