Gregorian George was my first electronic project started in late 1987-90.
In 1988 I started Violet Glass Oracle to promote my music and that of other like minded musicians from around the world.
In 1990 I decided to focus solely on my own music due to the heavy demands of working full time/writing music and promoting outside artists. That year I also joined up with 3 others in the noise-rock band DuPont that ran its course in 1992. It was at this point in 1992 that I started my 2nd solo-electronics project Dime (which was rigid drum machine and synth material). Devo and The Residents was heavily on my mind at the time and I wanted purge the rock/noise of the last 2 years out of my system doing something overtly structured and clean. By 1994 I was becoming tired of the sterility of Dime and it was then that Toemass was started to step into a more textural organic direction. Heldon, Teutonic pulse, Detroit Techno, Minimalism, Experimental Dub & Jazz all had its effect. In 1995 I also started occasional collaboration with Windy & Carl in the project Five Way Mirror. The music of Five Way Mirror merges guitar ambiance with the more trance like elements of Toemass.
