For those who are unfamiliar with bulletin board systems, BBS's (bulletin board systems) were used before the internet became popular. Think of them as micro internets. People used to call these systems with their computer using communication software. A BBS member could play games, place ads, download software, and even chat with others. Musicians Online BBS offered free membership, which meant that all a member needed to log on to the BBS was a phone line. No internet providers or special connections were required.
Due to the overwhelming popularity and a sysop that was unwilling to give up, Musicians Online BBS was the last bulletin board system in operation in the Indianapolis area in Indiana. Musicians Online BBS was finally taken off line February 26, 2003 due to the lack of activity.
